About 6G Evolution Summit

6G is detailed in 3GPP’s Release 21 in 2027, and despite being more than three years away, the industry is already valued at $5.1 billion and is predicted to grow at a CAGR of 34.2% until 2030. The drivers of the market are nothing new, the demand for high-speed and reliable connectivity. 6G is predicted to be up to 100 times faster than 5G which of course has huge implications for everyone. However, there is a lot to be done until then. Communication Service Providers that have already heavily invested in 5G and 4G solutions may feel it’s somewhat too soon to talk about 6G, but with the technological upgrades needed now is the time to start making plans. Join Fierce Wireless’ 6G Evolution Summit to get a thorough understanding of where the 6G discussion is today, and what will need to be done to fully realize the full 6G potential.

AGENDA
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12

11:00 AM – 12:30 PM ET

Preparing for a 6G World.

During our 5G Blitz Week in March, Fierce Wireless put to speakers whether we are getting ahead of ourselves by discussing 6G before 5G had been fully realized. And the answer remains the same, no. 6G is poised to go above and beyond its predecessor solutions and bring about a world of ubiquitous connectivity, delivering speeds of one tetrabyte per second. This of course has huge implications across many vertical industries, in addition to making use cases such as Network as a Sensor and Intelligent Machine Communication a reality. Nevertheless, challenges need to be addressed until 6G becomes the norm. Experts state that operators must overcome challenges relating to tetrahertz technology I and investment before 6G can really take off. As such, join this session to learn why it’s important that we need to start making 6G preparations now, and what CSPs can do to get ahead of the game.

AGENDA
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12

1:00 PM – 2:15 PM ET

Laying the Foundations of the 6G Ecosystem- The Role of 5G Advanced.

A network is not built overnight. It requires a heavy amount of investment in addition to careful planning and deployment. With CSPs having already heavily invested in their 5G networks, they will need to know where upgrades can be made so that they can be 6G-ready in the coming years. 5G Advanced is detailed in 3GPP’s Release 18 and is scheduled for 2024. As an evolution and enhancement of many of the 5G capabilities, many 5G Advanced use cases, including Extended Reality, Reduced Capability and Intelligent Network Automation will be pivotal steppingstones towards 6G. How can CSPs use 5G Advanced so they can readily evolve into 6G? Where should investments be made and what do they need to do to ensure they retain a competitive edge?

1:00 PM - 1:15 PM ET Fireside Chat | Speaker: Brian Daly, AVP Wireless Technology & Standards,  AT&T / Moderator: Mark Lowenstein, Managing Director, Mobile Ecosystem

1:15 PM - 1:30 PM ET Keynote | Speaker: Stefan Pongratz, Industry Analyst, Dell'Oro

1:30 PM - 2:15 PM ET Panel Discussion | Moderator: Chris Pearson, President, 5G Americas / Panelists: Sylwia Kechiche, Principal Analyst, Ookla / Alan Loh, Innovation & Solutions Executive General Manager, Zain Saudi Arabia

AGENDA
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13

11:00 AM – 12:15 PM ET

6G Testing & Measurement

The significantly superior performance of 6G will be off the back of the propagation of the subtetrahertz spectrum. However, as this is a new playing field for CSPs, they must be able to overcome challenges related to propagation of sub-tetrahertz frequencies and this will require the appropriate testing and measurement solutions. As CSPs invest in 6G technologies, they must also ensure they invest in high-performance infrastructure to enable them to effectively research and be able to deliver a 6G network fit-for-purpose. What are some unique challenges CSPs will face relating to testing and measurement of the sub-tetrahertz frequencies? Do they have the knowledge and equipment in house to conduct thorough tests, and if not is it better to outsource or to upskill their own work force?

11:00 AM - 11:15 AM ET Keynote | Speaker: Prakash Sangam, Principal, Tantra Analysts

11:15 AM - 11:30 AM ET Partner Keynote | Speaker: Nick Ilyadis, VP of Product Planning, Achronix Semiconductor
